Food Failure

2 words:

Eggs = Fail     (okay, well maybe that's 2 words and a symbol;)

Nathan loves food.  Like seriously obsessed with food.  So, it's no wonder that I'm always surprised when we give him something that he really dislikes.  Eggs were such an example.  He gags, then he spits his food out, then he looks at us like we've just poisoned him.  haha.  I can't help but laugh.  He's just so darn cute sometimes.

Ski Weekend

My hubby and I both love skiing.  Last year I was preggo so I missed a full season, and this year we have Nathan so it's harder for both of us to go.  The mountain is about 3 hours from where we live so we decided to rent a condo for the weekend with friends and make a mini-vacation out of it.

The first day looked like this...Amazing, blue, sunny skies.  Perfect conditions with so much new powder.

My Besties......

The second day looked like this.....blizzardy.  It sucked.  I did 3 runs in total and went back to the condo early for a morning beer!!  By the way, I love vacation!!!!

Nathan pretty much chilled in the condo the entire weekend.  Luckily, there were always so many people around that he LOVED it.  He had the best time being passed around and getting so much attention.

Unfortunately, he really didn't sleep very well at night...both nights he ended up in our bed at 4am in the morning.  Apparently he likes his own crib because last night he slept 11 hours straight without a peep...Go figure!!!!

Overall, a great weekend and I can't wait to go again.

7 Month Post...

I know I always start these posts with "Where has the time gone".....but seriously, WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE???!!!!!!!  How is it that you are already 7 months old already??

7 Month Stats...
Weight: 21 lbs 8 ounces...eek...you're a little chunker.  85th-97th percentile.
Height: 27".  50th percentile
Head size:  97th percentile.

You can move around faster now.  Not quite a 'true' crawl yet, but a fast army crawl.  You are also doing some yoga poses lately and I can't wait to finally snap a picture of your downward dog!!  haha.

You can say everything BUT 'mama'.  'Dada' is probably your favorite thing to say.

You are eating 2 solid meals per day.  Your first meal is always oatmeal cereal with banana.  Dinnertime is usually a veggie and fruit, or 2 veggies.  We just started pureeing chicken....um, yeah...yuck!  Chicken should stay whole.  This week we're going to start lunch as well. yummy!!!!!

You are becoming more lovable by the minute.  I love it that you can hold your hands out to show me you want to come up.  Or you reach for me when you're a little upset.  I love it and HATE it that you cried for me when I went to work the other day.  It broke and melted my heart all at the same time:)

It's so cliche but I can't imagine loving anything more.

"I'm Lovin' it"

Look where we went today...

Another one of my many guilty pleasures.  I only indulge once in a blue moon, and those usually fall on days when my hubby is gone.  Today was a lazy Sunday with just me and Nathan.  I caught up on all of my Kourtney and Kim Take NY episodes and spent the day lazing around the house:)

Boring day, but a great day:)

Likes & Dislikes

Dear Nathan,

Here are a list of your favorite things....in order.

1) Your bottle.  You are officially obsessed.  You will take your bottle anytime, day or night, full or hungry, happy or sad.  Your little feet kick and you make this cute little whine whenever you see it.

2) Your pureed baby food.  Same idea, you kick and whine whenever we put you in your high chair to be fed.  Your daddy and I call you a little chicken because whenever there's food around you open your little mouth so eagerly.

3) Mommy and Daddy's food (see a pattern here????).  Mommy and Daddy can't eat anything anymore without that little whine of yours.

4) Your mommy and Daddy (maybe your mommy a little more than your daddy..hehe)

5) Anything that looks like a toy, but that's not really your toy.  ie remote, our watches, cell phones, ipad, monitor, dog bone (you read that right) etc.

6) Bath time:)  You're most pleasant time of the day is when you can splash around.

Things you HATE:

1) Being tired.  You're a real PIA when you're sleepy.

2) Lack of attention from your mommy or daddy.

3) Having your face washed.  You're starting to detest this.  As soon as you see me coming with a cloth you start pouting.

4) Naps...still a sleep fighter.

xoxo Big guy:)  Love, Mommy and Daddy!!!

It's Winter!!!!

I love Winter.  Well, maybe not love, but there's definitely a lot of things I like about it!!!  I love those bright blue sunny days where the snow glistens and you can play outside for hours.  Unfortunately in Victoria we have similar weather to Vancouver or Seattle....that's right, lots of rain.  Mostly we just get dim, grey, and wet days....boo!!!!!

So, when we were home for the holidays, we took full advantage.  We did a fun hike, went ice skating on a local pond, and even took our ATV's and spent a full day in 'the woods'.

This amazing waterfall is only a 5 minute drive from where I grew up...can you believe this is the first time I've seen it...crazy!!!!!!

My younger sis and her BF...WHAT WHAT...shout out:)  haha

Nothing like toasting bread over a fire in the middle of December...mmm....mmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holidays part deux

Wow...where has the time gone??  Sorry to my sister all my followers that it's been so long since I've posted.  We had an amazing holiday in Newfoundland and I can't believe it's over.  I have so many pics to share with everyone so I might have to make this a multi post kinda thing.

One of the best things about spending time with family is....the FREE babysitting!!  haha.  We took full advantage while we were away.  I figure it's a win-win for everyone.  My parents so desperately want to spend time with Nathan since they don't see him that often, and we were in need of some adult time.  It's nice to feel 21 again...even if it's just for a night:)

We left Nathan overnight for the first time since he was born.  I had some mixed emotions about leaving, but I knew he was in great hands.  Here we are partying until 'our socks came off' (wow, how old am I right now!!!).

And, here we are getting a little crazy as the night went on.  We had a few too many Jagger bombs.  oops!!!

And then, the best part about spending the night away....coming home to find this little guy waiting for you:)
