Whistler Vacation

This past weekend we joined some friends and made the trek to Whistler.  For those of you that have been, you already know that it may quite possibly be the best ski resort in all of North America (and trust me, I've been to quite a few).  For those of you that haven't had this opportunity...run!!!  haha.  Seriously though, it may just be one of my favorite places ever, and this weekend didn't disappoint.

Whistler (along with Vancouver) was also just recently the home of the 2010 winter olympics, which luckily my hubs and I were fortunate enough to go and see.

One of my best friends just found out she's pregnant so she decided she didn't want to ski (congrats lady!!!!!) so she offered to be our babysitter for the weekend.   I literally felt so bad for her...everything that involved 'fun' she couldn't really do...ski, snowboard, hot tub, booze etc etc.  Plus she was suffering from morning sickness while we were there which was also NOT fun.  This, by the way, has deterred me from becoming pregnant again anytime soon...FYI!!!

We spent 5 days and 4 nights there.  I only skiied two days and got to hang with my little Boo for the rest of the time.

The other days were spent lounging, playing in the snow, shopping, and sight seeing.  Whistler has a little something for everyone. 

Nathan wasn't quite sure what to make of all this 'fluffy stuff'.  I mean, it's cold, he was dressed like a little puff ball, and he couldn't really crawl around and explore in the stuff.

Overall, the weekend was fantastic.  I'm truly going to miss it here in British Columbia.

Nine month post!!!

Dear Nathan,

This month we've seen you transition from an army crawling baby to a full crawling, cruising, pre-toddler.

Yay Daddy...I love playing 'silly' with you:)

Your personality is starting to bloom and let's just say you're a lot like your daddy....Stubborn, demanding, confident, smart and totally loveable!! You certainly have your mommy's cheeks, hair, and nose, but your personality is all your dads.


Your big pudgy belly is slowly starting to disappear (you're still a chunker, don't get me wrong) but your cheeks seem like they're here to stay. People are constantly commenting on them. We also hear lots of compliments on those big blue eyes of yours. They really are incredible and we think they're your best feature.

You love talking to us. This month we are hearing all sorts of crazy sounds coming out of that mouth of yours. Speaking of mouths, you still only have 2 teeth. We've been patiently waiting for more to arrive for weeks now. I'm sure they're waiting for a special occasion to make their appearance.


You are still a food eating machine.  You are drinking 3 seven ounce bottles per day and having 3 solid meals per day.  You love real food so much that you will literally eat until you throw up (luckily mommy and daddy have only let this happen once...thank god;)



Firsts this month....

First birthday party...you had so much fun...especially when mommy let you eat whatever you wanted!!!

We bought you your FIRST SNOWBOARD!!!!  I don't think you will ever use it, but the thought is there.

First time you stood all by yourself without any furniture.  I'd say you are up to about 10 seconds now:)

First time you've stumbled down the stairs.  This one is totally daddy's fault.  He wasn't watching you and you beat him to it.  Luckily, there were only a few stairs and it ended on fluffy carpet.  We seriously need to get our asses in gear and baby proof.

(We're starting to sound like horrible parents aren't we.............????) 

Don't worry Boo Bear, we will never let anything bad happen to you.  You are literally our everything.

MOVING....

Lately, it's been pretty hectic.  We've been spending our days between working and playing with Nathan and our evenings packing, packing, and then doing some more packing.  

Hopefully, this will be our last big move because I honestly hate it.  It's time consuming, stressful, and just an all around annoyance.  Not to mention the fact that we're living off the bare minimum right now.  Nathan is down to 3-4 toys and we're living out of suitcases.  The moving truck isn't coming until next week but we're away in WHISTLER (more on that later) in a few days so everything has to be ready to go by Friday.

Here I am...I like my new playground mommy!!!!!

It's weird to think that almost everything we've accumulated over the last 4 years can be crammed into an office.  

Speaking of Whistler.....I'm so excited.  Five full days of skiing, snowshoeing (hopefully), hot tubs, beer, and playing with Nathan.  Sounds like heaven.  Only thing missing is a white sandy beach somewhere!!  haha.  

So, I'll probably be MIA over the next week or so but will have lots of updates after our mini vacation!!!!

He actually woke up from a nap like this (no, mama did not style his hair this way).  Then we spent the next 15 minutes laughing at this 'new' hairstyle....so freakin cute!!!!!

Teething faces....

 Lately, Nathan has been making this face.....

It's pretty constant.  Like, if he's not smiling or babbling, he's doing this again.....

We're thinking it's his top teeth coming in, and we can't wait for them to come!!!  There are different variations of this face.  Sometimes it's the top lip over bottom lip and sometimes it's the bottom over the top lip.  Either way, it's pretty cute:)

What we've been up to....

The past few days have been busy, busy, busy.

We celebrated a friend's birthday...Happy Birthday Steph!!!!

We went skiing again....fresh powder everywhere...it was an amazing day!!!

Nathan discovered another new toy....look at that expression...so cute!!!!

Nathan discovered a new pass time at the mall...a quick stop to look at all the fishies!!!!

Mama bought a new shirt that's perfect for weekends and work...score!!!!

Overall, a great couple of days.

Next, we start packing, taxes, and putting all of our ducks in a row for the big move happening in about a month...eek!!!  So much to do.  Luckily I have an amazing husband who's great at that kinda stuff!!!!

I love being a mom, but....

I wish I could take an occasional morning off sometimes..haha!!!

Last night we had friends over for dinner and drinks.  Next thing you know it's past midnight and we've somehow polished off a couple bottles of wine and a 12 pack of beer.  Needless to say, my head hurts a little this morning.

Nathan has an internal alarm clock.  He knows when mommy wants him to sleep in a little.  Do you know how I know this????...because he doesn't!!!  He gets up even earlier than usual, 6:30 to be exact.

You can't call in sick when you're a parent.  You can't even slack off a little.  You have to be always present and always on.

I wouldn't trade it for anything though:)  His smile at 6:30 am is pretty priceless.
